When you first insert the CD it will auto run and display as you see here
  • Do Not process from here but Click the EXIT

You must install the upgrade from the Control Panel
  • Click on Start and Click on Control Panel (Your Menu setup may vary from the above display depending upon how you have configured Windows 2000 or Windows XP – Or Windows Vista – Business Edition or Higher
  • Note: Windows Vista Home is not supported in any version

In Control Panel (Classic View) Click on Add or Remove Programs
  • This screen may also vary depending upon your version of Windows and how you have it configured.

Windows now displays a listing of all the programs you have installed.

On the Left side of the screen click the Add New Programs – Then Click the CD button

Your CD is already in the drive so click next

The Drive Letter may be different depending upon the number of CD drives you have and where you have placed the firehouse CD

Firehouse displays the option screen

Click the update existing Installation
Click Skip automatic search for existing installation

Review the Splash Screen and Click Next

Drive C: \Program Files\FIREHOUSE Software Should be the default location for your Data In some cases it may be different especially if you use a network.
  • If you are uncertain as to the location of your files Click on the Browse button and search for them on your drives

Make certain you check Update the Database

Click yes to back up the databases

DO NOT check the box, Click Next
  • ONLY check the box if you are running a NETWORK. For instructions on this contact the WCVFRA Office.

Click the Install Button

When it has completed it will clear to this memo Box

Firehouse Program Software has been updated
  • Click OK to update the Databases to the new version – You must do this or the program will be unable to access your data.

These should auto fill with the correct information
  • Make certain they are checked as indicated above and click UPDATE

The database update has begun

Database processing status bar displays until completion

Now it is upgrading the lookup tables

This will display each individual Database as it processes

The update is now complete click YES

You may review the log if you wish but it is not necessary

Now you should continue with the installation of the documentation – make certain it is checked as shown above

  • You should receive this error it is normal – Click OK

Click on the incident and browse to check your records

This box will come up due too the FH Background is in VERSION 6.
